Summary: Maybe the original "Survival Folder"
Comment: OK "Survival Knife" is a garbage term and a lot of genuine junk knives are hyped as such. AND some would debate that any folding knife would be adequate for survival purposes. Bottom line, though, is that fixed blade knives are normally illegal to carry unless you are in the back woods. So... a good folder is the best knife you can keep with you under ordinary circumstances.
I have had my Buck 110 at least 15 years and purchased it used - and cheap - at a gun show. By the condition of its sheath I'd guess it was already a decade old when I got it. The Buck Website says this model was introduced in 1963 and for all I know mine might be that old.
I was in the market for a lockback that day because I'd recently busted up a Schrade lockback folder of very similar design. I figured if these "folding hunters" were going to bust apart that way, that I wasn't going to pay a lot for one. My Buck 110, though, has held up fine through a variety of abuses.
These days, I have a very highly regarded Benchmade folder that costs over three times the retail price of the Buck 110. I LIKE it better, kind of the way some folks like an Audi better than a Ford, even though both of them will get you there. That Benchmade might even be a better knife - though I really can't say that for sure.
The Buck 110 gives you 4 inches of well tempered steel and is built like a tank. Unfortunately it seems heavy as one in my hip pocket, too, which is one of the reasons it is now relegated to "backup" duty. But I would be every bit as confident relying on it in an emergency survival situation as any FOLDING knife I know of.
That merits it a five star rating.

Comment: I saw a good deal on their price. I ordered 5 of the knives. A week later I get a notice my order was cancelled. Cancel them..Buy somewhere else where you may actually get the product at the price they advertise.

Summary: One of the best knives ever made
Comment: This is a classic knife that is large enough to be able to tackle most jobs in the field but small enough it is comfortable to wear on your hip. Built like a tank and made to last, with a high carbon steel content blade that holds an edge extremely well. Hard to find a better all around knife than this - will last for years to come.

Comment: I grew up ranching, farming and hunting. I have never owned or used a knife that was better for field dressing game than this one. It keeps an edge longer than any I have owned, and that is among many, many over the years.
