Roses have been queenly since the days of Cleopatra when the sultry ruler demanded that the canals be filled with them to scent her arrival by boat. Beyond its lovely fragrance, rose absolute also smoothes and rejuvenates skin. Ring of Roses has a glycerine base (an ingredient traditionally paired with rosewater) and plenty of cocoa butter to soften and pamper your skin as you bathe. Try it for shaving too. Either way, you'll feel like royalty. Note: This product may melt and is NOT guaranteed to arrive solid during the summer months!

Comment: As a fan of LUSH beauty products I must admit this one is less than impressive. For a start, it has a citrus scent and I was expecting it to be heady with lots of rose essential oils. The lemon oil seems to win and that is why I was disappointed with this product. If I wanted lemon I'd order "Lemslip." If you haven't tried the buttercreams then perhaps you'd be better off buying "Skinny Dip" which is more sudsy and has a delicious fragrance.

Summary: Note too rosey, but sweet all the same
Comment: I was actually hoping for a stronger rose scent - but this is a blend of citrus and rose - an odd, yet very very appealing aroma. I shaved off a small slice to keep in the bathroom so that I don't waste it by over exposure to water. (I don't have heating in my apt, and its cold, so I'm not worried about it having to go in a fridge for storage since its possible the temperature is the same at the moment. (though i do keep the larger chunk in the fridge anyway)
Its an amazing fragrance - very sensual, yet invigorating. And works great as a moisturizing cleanser.
I'm definitely going to get this one again!

Summary: If you love roses, this is for you.
Comment: I got this as a free sample from my friend, and was really excited to use it. I'm not a fan of rose smells, so when I got this Butter Cream, I already knew I wouldn't like the smell. But for those of you who like roses, this soap smells exactly like it. Ring of Roses is one of LUSH's Butter Creams, which is basically a hand or body soap that is packed with cocoa/shea butter so it's super moisturizing. I really like how this Butter Cream left my skin (smooth, soft and moisturized), but I really didn't care for the smell which is why I took off a couple of stars. The smell is the only negative thing about this soap, and that's just a preference thing. I still really liked how the soap worked.
I will, however, be buying other Butter Creams from LUSH. They have one that smells just like chocolate (Heavenly Bodies)and it leaves your skin super soft as well.
