Customer Rating: Summary: Little house on the prairie season 8 Comment: Well I would probley like it a lot but, I haven't recived it as of yet and I have contacted the seller but have not recived a reply. I sent two e-mails and still I have not got a reply.
Customer Rating: Summary: Big Changes on the Grove Front Comment: anybody who tuned in to watch Little House on the Prairie throughout the original series run would be quick to notice the big changes that took place as Season 7 transitioned into Season 8. At the end of Season 7, we saw the final departure of Merlin Olsen (Jonathan Garvey) and Patrick Labyorteaux (Andrew Garvey) from the series and the introduction of Missy Francis (Cassandra Cooper) and Jason Bateman (James Cooper) as series regulars. At the start of this season, we discover these two newcomers have joined Albert as adopted Ingalls children.
But, that's not the long-and-short of the changes. We also witness the departure of Melissa Sue Anderson (Mary), Linwood Boomer (Adam), Allison Arngrim (Nellie) and Steve Tracy (Percival) from the series cast. In their absence, we're first introduced to Allison Balson as Nancy, the vicious Oleson adoptee who takes Nellie's loathsome, underhanded antics to a new, all-time low. At least, Willie Oleson (Jonathan Gilbert) is beginning to change and mature and aids the Wilders, Ingalls kids and other students in showing Nancy what's what.
Not only that, but we're graced near the end of the season with the return of Victor French as Laura's dear montain-man companion, Isaiah Edwards.
Many people know that much of the Little House television series was of Michael Landon's invention, as opposed to being derived directly from the books or Laura Ingalls Wilder's biographies. (For instance, Charles & Caroline never adopted any children.) However, this season includes a compacting of tragic turns that in reality did affected Almonzo & Laura's lives. These events included Almonzo contracting diptheria and suffering a stroke, the destruction of their farm and crops from a vicious hailstorm and a tornado that shook the Wilder house to pieces. According to the bonus interview with Dean Butler (Almonzo), these tragedies occurred, but respectively to each other, not in one fell swoop, as depicted on the show.
Side note: Jason Bateman's older sister, Justine was a star of the 80's television series, Family Ties with Michael J. Fox. Fox would later star in the 1985 comedy Teen Wolf, and Jason would take the leading role in its sequel, Teen Wolf Too. (It's only a coincidence that Little House series creator Michael Landon's first taste of fame was as the star in 1957's I Was a Teenage Werewolf.)
Customer Rating: Summary: little house on the prairie Comment: great, injoyed watchin all dvd of the series 1/8 must b seen.cant wait to get the last one dvd 9. shame it had 2 end, rember watchin this s a kid runnin home from school .xx
Customer Rating: Summary: I love little house... but... Comment: This is the saddest season. If you're picking this up for a gift for a little house fan, or if you know the series pretty well and just can't remember which season the best episodes were in.. chances are it's not here.
Stick to the earlier seasons, unless you just want this to complete your collection....A few highlights here and there, but overall most of these are just depressing.
Customer Rating: Summary: Family Entertainment at it's best Comment: The 8th season of Little House on the Prairie brings to a close the main cast that we've seen the last 8 seasons. Heartwarming episodes are just great and I loved every moment. I am sad to see the end of the 8th season as LHOTP just wasn't the same seasons 9 and 10. Totally worth the money to complete your set with season 8!
