I had one of these lamps for many years and I ordered an exact replacement after my cat knocked the original off of my desk. (He was able to jump through its uprights until he reached 14lbs.) After a long search, I decided that I wanted the same lamp, so I guess it's what I like. Be sure to get the Catalina brand; the Lorell version looks inferior to me. It simply does not put out anything close to the claimed luminosity. On another nearby desk I have a 50W halogen light that's easily twice as bright. Checked the bulb and it indeed was labeled as 100W. Don't know what the reason is... power supply... bad design? Regardless... get ready for something more like 25W... I sent mine back.
