Comment: I replaced a built-in (on motherboard) Ethernet 10/100 network connection with this Intel Pro/1000 (gigabyte) network adapter with no problems. The speed seems much better and the install procedure was easy. New updates are available via Microsoft Windows Update procedure.. I even bought 3 more of these adapters to replace the network adapters in my other computers...

Summary: Rock solid on linux
Comment: I replaced my cheapie gigabit nics (Realtek chipset) with the Intel nics and the difference is like night and day under Linux. 50MB/s file transfers are now the norm. You can go cheapie on most other computer parts but don't do it with nics under Linux.

Comment: This is a must have if you have a giga network. The speed are phenomenal I honestly am happy with this I can finally stream HD/BD movies and move them across my network with in <15 min.. I choose Intel since I have trusted since it a good brand, even through expensive compared to others..The quality is great..
