Customer Rating: Summary: Does it help sleep? Comment: The Marpac works fine and arrived promptly and as advertised. I like the white noise, but my husband hears things in it that I don't, so I can't use it all the time. I think it is an effective product for those who can use it consistently.
Customer Rating: Summary: Get some really good deep sleep with this machine! Comment: I could not live w/out this product. I sleep so much better. The gentle white noise really helps me sleep more deeply and soundly. It's small enough to travel with in a suitcase too! Get one!!! They're awesome..especially in noisy hotel rooms when traveling.
Customer Rating: Summary: A word of caution Comment: Just a warning. Do NOT get your baby addicted to sleeping with this as I did. It seemed like such a good idea--household noises wouldn't wake her from her nap! It really worked well. However, my "baby" is now 30 years old and cannot sleep without a Sleep Mate! It's a great machine though. Our first one lasted almost twenty years.
Customer Rating: Summary: sleep peacefully Comment: Some members of my household are nightowls, I am not. Sleep Mate on, family off. Sleeping like a log, I love it.
Customer Rating: Summary: How did I ever sleep without this? Comment: It was a real struggle to find just the right sound to sleep to. After moving from a house with a great overhead fan (dry mouth inducing though it may have been), I tried several different fans that were either loud, annoying, or were too high-pitched. Hey, I'm picky. Once I saw this, I knew someone finally understood my neurotic plight.
The ability to adjust little aspects of the sound quality is just what I wanted, and the fact that there is no rattle, no whine, and no pattern to the sound is wonderful. The only problem, and it was a big one: even the low setting was too loud. Fortunately, putting it in my closet with the door cracked about 6 inches did the trick perfectly.
Just the right amount of white noise, and now sleep comes so easily.
